About the Role

We are seeking skilled Data Centre Technicians to join our team at Amazon. As a Data Centre Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres, which are the backbone of our cloud computing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Troubleshooting: You will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical issues with our data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking equipment.
  2. Infrastructure Installation: You will install and configure new equipment, including racks, servers, and network devices, to ensure that our data centres are running at optimal levels.
  3. Physical Layer Outages: You will investigate and resolve physical layer outages, including power and cooling issues, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  4. Shift Work: You will work a rotating shift schedule, including night shifts, to ensure that our data centres are always staffed and operational.
  5. Collaboration: You will work closely with other teams, including engineering, operations, and security, to ensure that our data centres are running smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience
  • 1+ years of computer networking experience
  • High school or equivalent diploma
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution
  • Knowledge of server hardware and components
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following hardware platforms
