Senior SHE Advisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SHE Advisor to join our team at Octavius Regional Civil Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of the SHE strategic plan.
  • Ensure our safety management systems comply with internal and external requirements.
  • Promote a culture of safety and collaboration across all projects.
  • Protect everyone impacted by our work and ensure a safe, healthy working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with correct reporting procedures and provide timely interventions.
  • Support continuous improvement in people skills and safety processes.
  • Offer expert advice on SHE legal requirements and industry best practices.

About You:

  • Personal qualities: thorough, detail-conscious, responsive, sound judgement, trusted advisor, committed to follow-through, persuasive communicator.
  • Experience & Knowledge: solid understanding of SHE legislation, practical experience in applying SHE processes and practices at remote sites, worked with SHE counterparts from clients and certification bodies, experience in civil engineering works methodology, ideally within the rail sector, familiarity with broader construction disciplines.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent, NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or similar, experience within a Tier 1 contracting environment would be an advantage.
