We are looking for a highly motivated Apprentice Mechanical Engineer to join our team in BAE Systems - NP15 1XL. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems located within Materials Handling Equipment.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. We offer a competitive salary of £15,700 in Year 1, progressing each year to £25,000 in Year 4, subject to satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain on-the-job experience, starting with shadowing your mentor and other Engineers, progressing to performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified Engineers where your work will be checked and signed off
  • Work will be carried out on customer's premises and at Briggs Equipment Group workshop locations within your specified region
  • Upon successful completion of the 4-year programme and subject to satisfactory performance, you will be considered for a permanent contract as a fully qualified Engineer with starting salary expectations of approximately £30k+ dependent on location

Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs at grade 4 / Scottish National 5 Grade C or above in English, Science & Mathematics (or equivalent) – Desirable
  • Able to complete apprenticeship qualification tasks independently, managing and prioritising own workload, work to deadlines under pressure
  • Clear, polite and professional verbal and written communication skills
