Job Summary

As a specialist clinical pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality pharmacy services in the OPAT team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. About the Role

The multidisciplinary OPAT team is led by a consultant in microbiology/infectious disease. You will work closely with parenteral therapy nurses, medical and nursing staff, and community nurses to deliver a safe and effective patient-centred OPAT service. Your key responsibilities will include monitoring and follow-up of patients, liaison with referring clinical teams, maintaining accurate patient records, and deputising for the advanced pharmacist for antimicrobials and OPAT.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a master's degree in pharmacy, completed pre-registration training, demonstrable clinical pharmacy experience, and a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent. You will also need to have experience in hospital clinical pharmacy and evidence of ability to work on your own and within a team. We are looking for a clinical pharmacist with wide-ranging experience and expert knowledge in antimicrobials and/or OPAT, as well as the ability to use research findings to develop services and patient care. You will also need to have evidence of involvement in developing policies, procedures, or patient information and audit work and implementing performance indicators.
