About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to babies, children, and young people with complex needs, including those requiring long-term ventilation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in partnership with patients and their families.
  • Empower families to prepare for life after hospitalization, ensuring they receive the support and resources needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide 1:1 care to patients in our Long-Term Ventilation and Step-Down Unit, utilizing your expertise in pediatric nursing to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Nursing (RSCN/RN/ RNLD/RGN) with post-registration experience in pediatric nursing or relevant placement experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs is essential; long-term ventilation experience is desirable but not required, as training and development opportunities will be provided.
