Payroll and Finance Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll and Finance Assistant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our payroll and finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll:
    • Collate and verify timesheets for accuracy.
    • Input overtime, holiday average information, and additional payments/deductions into the payroll system.
    • Maintain and update sickness records, sick notes, and SSP (Statutory Sick Pay) documentation.
    • Gather company vehicle information for employees' Benefits in Kind.
    • Respond promptly and efficiently to employee queries related to payroll.
    • Adhere strictly to GDPR regulations at all times.
    • Assist with ad-hoc payroll projects as assigned.
  • Finance:
    • Raise credit notes and prepare analysis reports.
    • Dispatch sales invoices to clients.
    • Reconcile petty cash accounts regularly.
    • Review and process expense claims submitted by employees.
    • Perform general administrative tasks as required.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar payroll and finance role.
  • Exceptional numerical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and payroll software.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated, confident, organized, practical, and highly adaptable.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience with ADP payroll system.
  • Familiarity with Timegate time and attendance system.
  • Previous experience with Sage 200 finance system.
  • Knowledge of Protean system.
