About the Role

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Facilities Manager to support the Facilities Services team. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues to provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and be highly visible, accessible, and responsive to site issues.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a positive can-do attitude and flexibility to respond to service needs.
  • Manage staff and budgets, ensuring effective use of resources and continuous service improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors, inspiring and motivating teams to deliver high-quality services.
  • Take responsibility for health and safety and fire prevention within the service area, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams and specialist advisers to develop and implement local health and safety arrangements, business resilience planning, and fire safety protocols.
  • Be the on-site contact/link between departments for estates/building projects, ensuring effective communication and coordination.

Requirements

  • Significant recent experience within a comparable role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Excellent communication, management, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Customer-focused and committed to continuous service improvement.
  • Ability to work independently within their sphere of authority and make informed decisions.
  • Confident in the use of a range of computer systems and willing to learn new technologies.
