Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the children's home, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Supervise and manage a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of excellent care and support to our clients.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the smooth running of the home, including the management of staff, clients, and resources.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, teachers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that the needs of our clients are met and their rights are respected.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained and equipped to provide high-quality care and support, including the completion of appraisals and identification of developmental goals and training opportunities.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that the home operates within its means and that all financial transactions are accurate and transparent.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' experience of working with vulnerable children in a residential environment.
  • Good standard of written and verbal English, including report writing and assessment skills.
  • A knowledge of the regulatory framework for the field, including the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • The completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services in the children and young people's residential management pathway or equivalent.
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Ability to represent the organisation to external bodies and members of the community.
Desirable
  • Experience of managing staff and completing supervision and appraisal processes.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Management Qualification.
