Job Overview

Tarmac is seeking a skilled and versatile Multi-Skilled Operative to join our team at Tarmac Harden Quarry. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality dry aggregates materials for the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate aggregates on site and manage machinery, including loading shovels, excavators, and mobile crushers.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance of the plant and maintain the highest levels of housekeeping.
  • Train and operate on static plant operations to drive plant optimization.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure customers receive good quality material and on-time deliveries.
  • Maximize plant availability and ensure compliance with health and safety measures.
  • Assist the supervisor in meeting daily and weekly production targets.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar aggregates environment or industrial setting.
  • Good communication skills and a desire to develop operative and supervisory skills.
  • Knowledge of the industry, plant, and quarrying processes.
  • Previous experience in mobile plant operations, preferably using loading shovels, excavators, and mobile crushers.
  • Flexibility and ability to work as part of a multi-skilled operative team.
  • Self-motivation and ability to motivate colleagues.
  • Knowledge of risk assessments and SSOW (HIRA) and permit systems.
  • Compliance with company policies, targets, and standards.
