Electrical Engineer - Newport

Sphere Solutions is seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Engineer to join our team for a large-scale, high-technology construction project in the UK.

The successful candidate will bring expertise in electrical systems design, implementation, and management, gained through experience on large-scale projects. You will ensure that all electrical systems meet safety standards, quality benchmarks, and project requirements, while also contributing to innovative solutions and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and review electrical system designs, layouts, and specifications to meet project requirements.
  2. Collaborate with design teams to integrate electrical systems with other disciplines.
  3. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  4. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical aspects of the project.
  5. Ensure all electrical work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  6. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, industry standards, and project specifications.
  7. Work closely with regulatory authorities and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals and certifications.
  8. Act as a key liaison between clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
  9. Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, inspections, and modifications.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer on large-scale construction projects, ideally in high-tech or industrial environments.
  3. In-depth knowledge of electrical systems design, installation, and maintenance.
  4. Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar.
  5. Familiarity with UK building regulations, BS7671 wiring regulations, and other industry standards.
