Job Title: Child Disability Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Child Disability Specialist to join our team at The Defender Association of Philadelphia. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting our mission to provide high-quality defense to individuals facing criminal charges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify grants available to support our strategic initiatives, including criminal justice reform, indigent defense, and youth justice.
  • Compile and verify information for grant applications, collaborating with colleagues and conducting thorough research.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs and projects funded by grants, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Develop and incorporate criminal legal system information into required documents.
  • Support Community Education and other development projects, leveraging your expertise to drive positive change.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, research, submission, and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and familiarity with publishing software.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to community events and funders.
  • Full Covid vaccination or approved exemption request.
