An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Nurse, Midwife or AHP registered health care professional to join the Resuscitation Service at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust as a Resuscitation Officer.

Job Summary

The Resuscitation Officer will support delivery of both basic life support, advanced life support and associated training throughout South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust (STSFT) and support effective operational delivery of this training.

$45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.

Main Responsibilities
  • SUPPORTING DELIVERY OF BASIC LIFE SUPPORT, ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT AND ASSOCIATED TRAINING WITHIN THE TRUST.
  • Responding to adult cardiac arrest calls, paediatric emergency calls, acting as an expert member of the team and facilitating experiential learning and team debrief.
  • Supporting resuscitation associated audit programmes across the Trust and lead on specific audits with designated responsibility from the SRO encouraging evidence-based practice Trust wide by contributing to the development and revision of Trust resuscitation and associated guidelines, policies, procedures and training in the light of new research and audit.
Person Specification
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • IT Skills / Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages.
  • Time management skills, able to organise and plan own workload and work without supervision.
  • Highly developed physical dexterity is required for clinical and training duties, performing resuscitation as part of the cardiac arrest team and participating in safe movement/transfer of patients, objects and training equipment.
  • Leadership Training.
  • Experience of working with the resuscitation service or wider comparable experience such as training at instructor level.
