The Resuscitation Officer (RO) will support planning, organisation and delivery of basic life support, intermediate life support, advanced life support and associated training throughout South Tyneside and Sunderland (STSFT) Foundation Trust. To deputise for the Resuscitation Service Lead/Senior Resuscitation Officer in their absence or in areas of delegated / designated responsibility. To lead on aspects of resuscitation service provision under delegated responsibility from the Resuscitation Service Lead/Senior Resuscitation Officer. He/she will be expected to respond to adult cardiac arrest calls, paediatric emergency calls, acting as a clinical member of the team and supporting team debrief.

To act as professional resource for staff within the Trust, providing advice, support and training in clinical services and areas in relation to resuscitation. Support resuscitation associated audit programmes across the Trust and lead on specific audits with designated responsibility from the Resuscitation Service Lead / Senior Resuscitation Officer. He/she will encourage evidence-based practice using national and Trust resuscitation and associated guidelines, policies, procedures and training in the light of new research and audit. Support effective use of all resuscitation training equipment within the Trust and contribute to the appropriate maintenance of such equipment.
