We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Care Specialist to join our team at NISI. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our school premises.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar caretaker or handyman role, with a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practical skills in building maintenance.
This is a temporary ongoing contract, working Monday to Friday 8am-4pm, with a salary of £11.44 per hour plus weekly holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to school facilities and equipment, monitor the building for any issues or damage and arrange for repairs when necessary.
- Health and Safety: Maintain a safe environment for pupils, staff and visitors by following health and safety guidelines, regularly check fire alarms, emergency lighting and security systems to ensure they are in working order.
- Cleaning and Waste Management: Support cleaning staff to ensure that all areas of the school are kept clean, hygienic and presentable, empty bins and manage recycling and waste disposal.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar caretaker or handyman role.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Practical skills in building maintenance (e.g. basic plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry).
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
