Lead Vehicle Interior Trim Design Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Vehicle Interior Trim Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of interior trim components, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality, cost, and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design and development of interior trim components, ensuring they meet our quality, cost, and functionality standards.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve cost targets, quality targets, and project KPIs.
  3. Provide technical solutions for development and market concerns.
  4. Ensure timely design note release and delivery.
  5. Develop concept sheets and support presentations to CVE.
  6. Prepare styling feedback on A-Surface feasibility and technical requirements.
  7. Manage full parts development, ensuring cost, timing, and delivery meet specifications.
  8. Ensure knowledge of all regulatory requirements for each region.
  9. Manage and influence coordination with other departments and suppliers.
  10. Create RFQs and review supplier concepts for cost and quality.
  11. Conduct quote and breakdown analysis, validating supplier quotes meet RFQ and concept needs.
  12. Generate cost reduction ideas to secure product technical and commercial competitiveness.
  13. Manage supplier activity and internal reporting.
  14. Support global strategies with European customer voice.

Requirements:

  1. Design or engineering qualification.
  2. Previous automotive design and development experience.
  3. Experience of cost breakdown analysis and working in a technical/commercial cross-functional team.
  4. Knowledge of interior cabin parts and modules.
  5. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  6. Valid driving license and ability to travel globally.
  7. CAD interrogation skills.
  8. Time management skills.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint in particular).

Working Hours and Pay: Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week, £27.00 per hour.
