About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Trading Underwriter to join our team at Aviva. As a Trading Underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing brokers, underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs. This role is ideal for someone with a background in broking or underwriting who is passionate about developing their career.

Key Responsibilities
  • To be a multiclass underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business
  • Great communicator who regularly has meaningful face-to-face meetings with brokers and/or customers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva their insurer of choice
  • Deal end-to-end with brokers/customers book of business
  • Embrace and understand Aviva's regional SME & Mid Market trading strategy
  • Be curious to grow understanding of the commercial business
Requirements
  • Previous property & liability and/or fleet underwriting experience is preferred, but not essential - Full training can be provided, but some experience of working in Insurance is essential
  • The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers
  • Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation
  • Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation
  • Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases
