About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Community Mental Health Practitioner to join our Children and Young People's Central Cheshire Mental Health Team.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in evidence-based therapeutic interventions, assessing and managing clinical risk, and a willingness to complete further training and development.

The team consists of experienced clinicians from various professional disciplines, providing therapeutic input, managing risk/complexity, and multi-agency working.

We offer a range of services, including assessment, therapy, family work, group work, consultation, and training.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A recognised qualification in a relevant discipline, such as nursing, social work, or allied health professionals.
  • Experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge and skills in applying a range of therapeutic modalities, such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, or systemic therapy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning.
Main Duties

The successful candidate will have a high level of enthusiasm and dedication to providing quality, community-based mental health services to children, young people, and their families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking mental health assessments and providing interventions/formulations to address the needs of the client group.
  • Working with children and young people who present with a level of clinical risk.
  • Working under pressure and in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Adapting and being flexible to think on your feet due to the nature of the role.
  • Access to transport or the ability to travel to various venues as part of the working day.
