About the Opportunity

We are offering a unique opportunity for a skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team in London. This is a permanent position with a competitive salary of £65,000 - £85,000 per annum.

As a System Safety Engineer, you will lead system safety hazard identification and risk assessments, identify safety measures and evidence of implementation, and associated management plans and reports.

You will work closely with project delivery teams, management, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the System Safety Manager to maintain the System Safety Management Plan.
  • Liaise with construction leads and subcontracts to ensure appropriate System Safety activities are planned and undertaken.
  • Produce and submit asset-specific system safety status reports to support progressive assurance of the construction phase.
  • Provide guidance on system safety practices and procedures to construction project teams.
  • Deliver briefings and awareness training to engender the appropriate system safety competence within the project team.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in Systems Engineering and Technical Assurance.
  • Knowledge of CSM and application of system safety assurance processes in major railway projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Awareness of the various disciplines involved in delivering major railway projects.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools, particularly IBM Rational DOORS.
