Job Details:

Academics are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with special needs in a local SEND school. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support children with special needs on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each student.
  2. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  3. Look after the physical, social, and emotional welfare of students, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding, prioritizing the needs of students at all times.

Requirements:

  1. Experience working with young people or in a SEND setting, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by students with special needs.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  3. Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  4. A commitment to supporting students with special needs, with a passion for making a positive impact on their lives.
