Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our team at The Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and executing sales strategies to attract and retain group business, corporate clients, and leisure travelers.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the hospitality industry, preferably with Marriott properties or similar global brands. A deep understanding of the Edinburgh market and its seasonal trends is essential. You will be required to identify, attract, and negotiate with potential group business clients, including corporate meetings, events, and social gatherings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth and maximize occupancy rates.
  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients and accounts, ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the local Edinburgh market, including competitors, trends, and key demand periods.
  • Leverage Marriott's sales channels, loyalty programs, and internal resources to increase visibility and drive revenue.
  • Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize RevPAR and occupancy rates.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Sales Manager role within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven track record of generating group business and managing corporate accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel sales systems and CRM tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
