Job Overview:
The role of the Senior Mental Health Professional at ThinkLocum involves conducting comprehensive s.12A Mental Health Assessments for clients detained in Her Majesty's Prisons (HMP). These assessments require thorough analysis and consideration of the client's mental health status, medical history, and potential treatment options.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in psychiatric services, including s.12A assessments, and a deep understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for this role, as the professional will need to provide clear, concise reports to the court.
A significant portion of the assessment will be conducted remotely using video conferencing tools such as MS Teams or Google Meets. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a remote setting and able to maintain high levels of professionalism and focus during virtual interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive s.12A Mental Health Assessments for clients in HMP
- Prepare detailed, expert reports for the court
- Collaborate with other professionals to gather relevant information and insights
- Provide clear, concise recommendations for the client's treatment and care
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in psychiatric services, including s.12A assessments
- Extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and its applications
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in MS Teams or Google Meets for remote video conferencing
