About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Assistant - Accounts Payable to join our team. As a key member of our financial department, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate records and managing all aspects of accounts payable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices and staff expense claims, ensuring accurate matching to purchase orders and receipts.
  • Manage payment runs, guaranteeing timely payments within due dates and correct amounts.
  • Conduct thorough supplier statement reconciliations and address any queries that arise.
  • Establish new supplier accounts, verifying relevant information and accurately entering it onto the system.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers over the phone.
  • Post manual payments promptly and allocate them to the corresponding invoices.
  • Cover colleagues' absences during holidays and sick leave.
  • Complete credit application forms before submitting them to the AP manager for signing.

Requirements:

  • A background in accounting or finance would be beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Sage or Excel software would be advantageous.
  • Possession of an accountancy degree is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours: Standard office hours, Monday to Friday

Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 per annum
