This role presents an exciting opportunity to work for a well-established organisation in Guildford.
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist with various financial tasks, including prepayments, accruals, and VAT returns. The successful candidate will have strong accounting principles knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Data Management: Prepare and process prepayments and accruals as part of the month-end procedures.
- Asset Register Maintenance: Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate records of all company assets.
- Journals and Returns: Assist in the preparation and posting of month-end journals and prepare VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Debt Review and Resolution: Support with Work in Progress (WIP) and debt reviews, identifying any outstanding issues and working to resolve them.
- Audit Support: Provide support during the annual audit process, liaising with auditors and preparing relevant documentation.
- Nominal Ledger Management: Manage and maintain the nominal ledger and other financial registers.
- Supplier and Employee Payments: Process supplier invoices, employee expenses, and ensure proper coding and approvals.
- Bank Reconciliations: Assist with daily bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
- Ad-Hoc Payments: Process regular supplier payment runs and handle ad-hoc payments as needed.
- Finance Queries: Address finance-related queries from both internal and external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
- Qualifications: Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and exposure to accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
- Personal Qualities: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and possess strong communication skills.
£35,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus comprehensive health insurance, pension plan, 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, life insurance, performance-based bonus, career development opportunities, and company events.
