Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Palliative Care Medical Specialist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading paediatric palliative care team in Europe.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Louis Dundas Centre for Paediatric Palliative Care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to children and their families.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert medical care to children with palliative needs, including symptom management and pain control
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct clinical audits and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care
  • Participate in educational activities, including teaching and training of medical students and junior doctors
  • Contribute to research and publications in the field of paediatric palliative care

Person Specification

  • Essential Criteria
    • GMC specialist registration with a Licence to Practice
    • MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Paediatrics
    • CCT/CCST in Paediatric Palliative Medicine (PPM) or equivalent training and experience
  • Desirable Criteria
    • Higher degree – PhD, MD or equivalent
    • Formal teaching qualification
    • Leadership or management qualification
