Alecto Recruitment is seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to join their team in Dorset. As a Heavy Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of heavy plant machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, dump trucks, and other specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Conducting diagnostic tests and troubleshooting faults on petrol and diesel engines, electrics, and mechanical equipment.
- Performing repairs and maintenance tasks on various plant and tool assets, including engines, generators, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Documenting all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage accurately.
- Collaborating with the maintenance team and other departments to ensure smooth operations and minimize equipment downtime.
- Experience working as a Plant Fitter or similar role, experience in petrol and diesel engines, electrics, and mechanical equipment will also be considered.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of plant and tool operations and maintenance requirements.
- NVQ level 3 in Heavy Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with different stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety.
