About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Specialist Practitioner to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis Service team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessments, care coordination, outreach, and support to individuals and their families affected by first episode psychosis.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions, including individual therapy and family support, to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the evaluation of service effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with current registration and post-qualifying experience in an acute setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of Early Intervention in Psychosis principles and research, with experience of managing risk and crisis situations.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of service users.
  • High standards of written communication skills, with the ability to use electronic patient records and other IT systems.
