Drive Fundraising Excellence as Strategic Director of Philanthropy

Cancer Research UK is a world-leading charity that conducts research into cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

We are seeking an experienced fundraising leader to join our team as Strategic Director of Philanthropy, focusing on the Translation and Innovation campaign priority with a particular emphasis on our Children's and Young People's programme.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to drive performance and growth for the £400m More Research, Less Cancer campaign.

As a senior member of our Major Gifts, Leadership Giving, Trust and Foundations teams, you will provide visionary leadership to 3 direct reports and a broader team of 11 fundraising professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, excellence, and high performance.

Translation and Innovation focuses on translating cancer research discoveries into tests and treatments that change lives. This critical work cannot benefit patients without translation and innovation.

You will lead ambitious and innovative projects, managing multiple and complex tasks in a fast-paced environment. With a proven track record in major gifts, you will build relationships and engage with philanthropists and high net-worth individuals.

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact every day, helping us achieve our mission to change lives for the better.

The ideal candidate will have a significant background in major gifts and experience leading teams in a similar context.

We estimate that this role will attract a salary of around £65,000 per annum, considering the location in London and the requirements of the position.

Candidates must be over 18 years old, due to health and safety and safeguarding risks.
