Educational Welfare Officer

GSL Education London Branch is seeking a motivated and caring individual to fill the position of Pastoral Teaching Assistant at a dynamic school in Lewisham.
About the Role:

As a key member of our pastoral support team, you will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive and inclusive school atmosphere, ensuring that every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals, through effective communication and problem-solving techniques.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual support plans, tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, and regularly review and update these plans to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
- Monitor and report on students' progress and well-being, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to their overall success.
Requirements:
- Experience working with young people, ideally in a pastoral or support role, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff, promoting a supportive and inclusive environment.
- A commitment to promoting the welfare of children and supporting their educational journey, always prioritising their needs and safety.
