Job Description

Holtec International is seeking a highly skilled Faults Studies Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for producing fault studies and supporting the development of the fault studies chapter of the Safety Case for submission to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) for use in the Generic Design Assessment (GDA).

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of light water moderated reactors and systems, as well as experience in fault studies and severe accidents assessments. You will be responsible for electrical engineering assessments of power plant systems, supporting the development of the Fault Studies and Severe Accidents safety case sections of the Safety Case, and coaching and mentoring team members to develop their technical and personal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical engineering assessments of power plant systems
  • Support the development of the Fault Studies and Severe Accidents safety case sections of the Safety Case
  • Coaching and mentoring team members
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external organizations
  • Defend reactor design positions

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in an engineering or science related discipline
  • Excellent credentials in principles of fault studies
  • Strong understanding of thermal hydraulic behavior of nuclear reactors under steady state and transient conditions
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
