Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Development Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and innovation of bituminous and asphalt materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • To design and test asphalt products for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality results.
  • To conduct performance testing on materials and identify areas for improvement, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • To collaborate with clients to understand their requirements for material designs, providing tailored solutions.
  • To coordinate work schedules to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • To provide weekly reports to Technical Management on tasks and progress.
  • To assist with general laboratory duties, maintaining a safe and tidy workspace.
  • To adhere to quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies' procedures and protocols.
  • To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • To calibrate testing equipment, ensuring precision and accuracy.
  • To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies, demonstrating our commitment to quality.
  • To perform daily laboratory equipment checks, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements
  • A sound understanding of asphalt materials and production/installation techniques.
  • A willingness to be flexible in your working pattern, adapting to changing priorities.
  • The physical ability to handle bulky materials and operate mechanical equipment, such as an asphalt road coring drill.
  • A full driving license and ability to operate a small commercial van.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, interacting with internal customers, external contributors, and auditors.
  • A tolerance for and ability to handle administrative tasks, including paperwork.
  • A planning, organizing, and problem-solving attitude, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • The ability to work independently, taking initiative and ownership of tasks.
