Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Asphalt Development Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and innovation of bituminous and asphalt materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • To carry out material designs and performance testing on asphalt products for internal and external stakeholders.
  • To conduct performance testing on materials and identify areas for improvement.
  • To liaise with clients on requirements for the material designs.
  • Coordination of work schedules to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Weekly reporting on tasks to Technical Management.
  • To assist with general laboratory duties when required.
  • To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory.
  • To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol.
  • To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software.
  • To calibrate all testing equipment.
  • To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies.
  • To undertake daily laboratory equipment checks.
Requirements
  • Sound understanding of asphalt materials and asphalt production/installation techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to carry out sampling and handling of bulky materials.
  • Ability to operate mechanical equipment such as an asphalt road coring drill.
  • Hold a full driving license and are capable of operating a small-sized commercial van.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and take ownership of tasks.
