Ophthalmic Imaging Technician Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Imaging Technician to provide high-quality imaging and visual field measurement services for out-patients, in-patients, and individuals attending the Eye Casualty at UHS.
Main Responsibilities
- Delivery of specialist clinical diagnostic imaging procedures with the highest standards of reproducibility.
- Complete imaging of patients' Retina, Optic Discs, and Corneas using Fundus camera and software programmes for retinal photography.
- Liaise with Ophthalmic Consultants, Optometrists, and Nursing staff to ensure accurate diagnosis and care pathway.
- Assessment of patients' ability to pass the DVLA requirements for Visual Fields and Visual Acuity.
Requirements
- Proficient and confident in imaging patients' Retina, Optic Discs, and Corneas using Optical Coherence Tomography, Retinal Fundal Photography, and other ophthalmic imaging equipment.
- Collate, appoint, and adjust patients' appointments for Visual Fields, HRT, OCT.
- Demonstrate awareness of NHS policies and procedures.
