Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a locum consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology to join our dynamic team at North Middlesex University Hospital. This is a general gynaecologist/obstetrician post with 08 PAs per week, 7.0 DCC and 1.0 SPA.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will take a full part in delivering the undergraduate curriculum, both to trainees and medical students attached to the department. They will also be expected to take a lead role in the department's clinical governance, including clinical risk management and audit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in obstetrics and gynaecology
  • Participate in the department's clinical governance and audit activities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies
  • Provide education and training to medical students and trainees
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in obstetrics and gynaecology, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Essential criteria include full GMC registration, medical degree, MRCOG or equivalent specialist qualification, and CCT or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of AAC. Desirable criteria include higher degree, MD, PhD, and evidence of training in risk management systems and formal training in communication in difficult situations.
