Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a locum consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology to join our dynamic team at North Middlesex University Hospital. This is a general gynaecologist/obstetrician post with 08 PAs per week, 7.0 DCC and 1.0 SPA. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to cover maternity leave and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be expected to take a full part in delivering the undergraduate curriculum, both to trainees and medical students attached to the department. They will also be responsible for taking a lead role in the management of the department, including the development of clinical policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, including antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecological services
  • Contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures
  • Take a lead role in the management of the department
  • Deliver undergraduate curriculum to trainees and medical students
  • Participate in clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional who possesses the following qualities:

  • Full GMC registration
  • Medical Degree – MBBS or equivalent
  • MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification
  • CCT or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of AAC
  • ATSM in advanced labour ward
Desirable Criteria

We would also welcome applications from candidates who possess the following qualities:

  • Higher degree MD, PhD
  • Evidence of training in risk management systems
  • Formal training in communication in difficult situations
  • Previous work in hospital with diverse ethnic population
