Reporting directly to the People Director, this role will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for all employees across various business units within the hospitality industry. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire payroll process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Calculate and manage various payroll elements, including bonuses, tronc payments, sickness leave, statutory family leave, advances, and deductions. This also includes quarterly bonus calculations for both operational and central teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee holidays and absences.
  • Manage pension contributions and submit pension payments on time.
  • Produce comprehensive weekly and monthly wage reconciliations, including sales and wages trackers, monthly wages reports, and tips trackers.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding the payroll system and address any payroll-related inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure accurate generation of essential payroll reports such as P60s, P45s, etc.
  • Calculate and submit P11Ds accurately.
  • Maintain strict compliance with National Minimum Wage legislation.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of payroll data to guarantee accuracy and integrity. Address any discrepancies or issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the payroll function. Implement best practices and streamline processes to enhance the overall payroll operation.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a Payroll Manager role is essential.
  • A thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures related to payroll is required.
  • Experience with payroll software, particularly Fourth Hospitality, is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Excel is mandatory.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective interaction with employees and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines consistently are required.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is paramount for ensuring accurate payroll processing.
