Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to join our team at Langdon Hall Country House Hotel and Spa, a luxury boutique property and member of Relais & Châteaux. The successful candidate will serve as an ambassador for the Hotel, providing exceptional service to guests and exceeding their expectations with attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Experience: Provide a consistently exceptional experience for all guests, offering knowledgeable and personalized service to ensure excellence in guest satisfaction.
  • Team Management: Plan, train, schedule, and supervise dining room team members, ensuring effective training and maintaining a positive and committed attitude.
  • Operations: Ensure the physical appearance of the dining room area and work stations, including cleaning schedules, table linens, and table setup.
  • Scheduling: Schedule work assignments for all dining room team members, assigning specific tasks and spot checking to ensure standards are met.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain pertinent and appropriate team member attendance records, reservations, incident reports, schedules, and special functions.
  • Support: Assist team members on the floor when needed and perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a food and beverage role, with 2+ years in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of fine dining service procedures and functions, excellent knowledge of food and wine pairing, and in-depth food and preparation knowledge.
  • Certifications: Smart Serve certified.
  • Skills: Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of guests, peers, supervisors, subordinates, and other outside contacts, demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, and ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English.
