Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Charge Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our 29-bed ICU department. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient care, prioritizing tasks, and escalating concerns to the senior nursing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with healthcare teams
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring level 2 and 3 care, following established policies and protocols
  • Prioritize nursing care, recognizing signs of patient deterioration and escalating concerns to seniors
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to achieve well-coordinated patient outcomes
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions to practice
  • Willingness to undertake relevant post-registration courses
  • Demonstrable clinical experience in high-acuity critically ill adults with invasive lines, mechanical ventilation, and vasoactive intravenous medications
  • Experience working in critical care specialties, including cardiac, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, renal, and GI surgery
  • Completed 60 credits Adult Critical Care/Intensive Care Course or equivalent and Step 1 Critical Care Competencies Course
