Job Title: Autism Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Autism Support Assistant in the Ayr area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals with Autism to live fulfilling lives.

The successful candidate will work closely with a young boy and his family to ensure that he receives the necessary support to participate in various activities, develop new skills, and pursue his interests. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the young person to engage in community life and activities as directed by his family.
  • Accompany him to outings such as cinema trips, coffee dates, bus rides to town, and swimming sessions.
  • Engage in home-based activities like games, arts and crafts, baking, or puzzles, tailored to the young person's needs and guidance from his parents.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of supporting individuals to achieve their full potential and lead active lives.
  • An understanding of how to empower individuals through supportive and facilitative approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to social inclusion.
  • Proficiency in using standard software packages and search engines.
