Job Title: Lead Clinical Cardiac Physiologist - Complex Diagnostics

About the Role:

We're seeking an exceptional individual to lead our Cardiac Physiology team, providing expert care and guidance in complex diagnostics. You'll work closely with our Cardiac Services Manager and other department leaders to develop and implement operational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement standard operational policies and procedures for Cardiac Physiology services.
  • Assist in extending services provided by Cardiac Physiology, working closely with the Head of Cardiac Services.
  • Support specialized consultants and body with service delivery and resources within a multidisciplinary department.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance of line reporting, create and maintain KPIs, and ensure project milestones and goals are met.
  • Perform highly specialized cardiac ultrasound investigations, including adult transthoracic, contrast, and bubble study echocardiograms.
  • Assist with transoesophageal echocardiograms, perform accurate and reproducible measurements, and interpret findings.
  • Issue final clinically diagnostic reports to a competent, highly specialized professional standard.
  • Lead quality assurance in attaining clinical governance standards for Cardiac Physiology, manage audit programs, and provide monthly data as requested.
Requirements:
  • BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology or BSc in Healthcare Science (Cardiac Physiology) or PTP equivalence.
  • Transthoracic (TTE) Level 2 accreditation by the British Society of Echocardiography or Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography Certification by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI).
  • Knowledge and experience of advanced and highly specialized procedures acquired through accredited courses.
  • Able to perform a range of specialist diagnostic investigations on patients in various clinical settings.
