Job Summary:

Speedy Hire Plc is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Depot Manager to manage our busy depot in Exeter. As a Depot Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the customer is at the heart of everything we do. You will proactively manage the team, have the independence of running your own depot, drive the business forward, and continue to deliver first-class customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of depot staff to ensure excellent customer service and efficient depot operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage depot finances, including budgets and profit and loss accounts.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure excellent customer service and supply chain management.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration and effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure the depot remains competitive.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a depot management role, preferably in the hire industry.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to manage finances and budgets.
  • PC literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
