About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Leadership and Advocacy Director to join our global team at Business for Nature. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a critical role in driving our advocacy efforts and coordinating our work with governments, businesses, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage our Advocacy team, ensuring they are coordinated, have a clear workplan, and objectives, and that communication flows between team members.
  • Manage the day-to-day work of the team, providing strategic and technical support as required, and supporting any HR-related issues.
  • Lead the advocacy program management, ensuring our strategy is translated into impactful activities and outputs that meet our objectives.
  • Support internal and external outreach, ensuring liaison with other teams and coordination, leading engagement with our Leadership Group and Business Advisory Group, and ensuring effective engagement opportunities for our CEO with governments as relevant.
  • Join our management team, contributing to our strategy, vision, and overall decision-making, helping drive our vision and strategic priorities, and upholding our values.
Requirements
  • A degree in political sciences, environmental management, economics, sustainable development, or any other relevant field.
  • Experience in leadership and people management, with an excellent track record in program and project management.
  • Experience in advocacy/policy and engaging directly with policymakers, ideally with experience in working with businesses.
  • Technical expertise on our advocacy priorities, including the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework, engagement in multi-lateral processes, and reform of environmentally harmful subsidies and incentives.
  • Excellent English written and oral communications skills, with a talent for working in multi-stakeholder partnerships and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including a capacity to track details, and a strong sense of responsibility for taking projects from inception to completion.
