About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at Barchester Healthcare. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading a team of chefs and front of house staff to deliver exceptional hospitality services to our residents.

As a Head Chef, you will have the autonomy to create menus and take ownership of your kitchen and team development. You will work closely with our internal Learning and Development team to provide industry-recognised apprenticeships and qualifications to chefs and hospitality team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of chefs and front of house staff to deliver high-quality hospitality services
  • Create menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents
  • Manage kitchen operations and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Work closely with the front of house team to deliver exceptional customer service

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including:

Requirements

  • City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
  • Experience leading, motivating, and inspiring a team
  • Experience working with fresh seasonal food and nutrition
  • Ability to create warm and welcoming environment
  • Confidence engaging with residents to create appetising menus
  • Experience working with front of house team
  • Good understanding of HACCP and COSHH
  • Knowledge of modified diets using IDDSI framework
