Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations and Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team at Impact on Urban Health. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive financial excellence, build strategic relationships, and contribute to the organization's mission.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations:
  • Manage day-to-day transactional processing and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and adherence to processes and timescales.
  • Oversee gift processing, charitable spending, payments, receipts, accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations, corporate credit cards, staff expenses, and payroll management.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of financial data across multiple systems, ensuring accurate and timely information for stakeholders.
  • Line Management:
  • Lead a team of six staff members within Financial Operations, including Management Accountant, Senior Finance Assistant, two Finance Assistants, and two Gift Processors.
  • IDentify clear goals, objectives, and responsibilities for individual team members, develop effective development plans, conduct regular appraisals, and address capability and conduct issues.
  • Provide coaching, support, and encouragement for professional and personal growth, while fostering a culture of value-for-money within the core teams.
  • Support budget holders in understanding and monitoring their expenditure, providing essential insights for informed decision-making.
  • Business Partnering:
  • Collaborate with Foundation's core teams (People & Culture, Corporate Communications, and Operations) to deliver business partnering support, enhancing performance and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Buold, maintain, and develop effective relationships with core team members, improving mutual knowledge and financial understanding.
  • Develop a commercial awareness, purchasing ledger, payment processes, and bank reconciliation expertise to drive efficient operations.
  • Demonstrate experience in producing high-quality management information, fostering successful business relationships, and exhibiting advanced Excel skills.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A highly numerate individual with advanced Excel skills (essential).
  • An established track record of cultivating successful business relationships and partnerships.
  • Experience within the charity sector is desirable.
  • A strong organizational and time-management skillset, commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial matters.
  • Flexibility, ability to work with and contribute to the team.

The estimated salary range for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
