About Smyths Toys

We are a leading retailer of toys and games, dedicated to providing an exceptional customer experience. As a Duty Manager, you will play a key role in driving sales growth, delivering excellent customer service, and leading a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Sales

  • Deliver and exceed sales targets through effective sales strategies and customer engagement
  • Maintain high product availability and ensure the team is knowledgeable about all products
  • Ensure all customer purchases are processed efficiently and in accordance with company guidelines

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer queries and concerns
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, floor presentation, and space planning
  • Participate in weekly stock takes, identifying and reporting any discrepancies

Staffing and Operations

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet business needs and events
  • Prepare and monitor daily task boards, driving team performance and productivity
  • Actively promote the team's knowledge of top-selling products and department stock loss
  • Assist the Store Manager with staffing issues, training, and performance reviews
  • Cash handling, security, and daily spot checks on all tills
  • Ensure adherence to company cash and stock handling procedures
  • Responsible for the opening and closing of the store

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record as a Duty Manager in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Highly motivated and ambitious, with excellent leadership, planning, and communication skills
  • Target-driven and customer-focused, with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and ability to work in a team environment
