Nationwide Platforms, the market-leading powered access rental company in the UK, seeks a highly skilled Trainer Development Specialist to join its team.

This exciting opportunity involves delivering technical skills development covering Nationwide Platforms fleet, including MEWP's, Truck and Van Mounted equipment, Tracked Booms, and BlueSky products for engineers in the UK and occasionally internationally.

Frequent travel is involved, with approximately three days per week, and occasional overnight stays may be required. The engineering side of the business demands flexibility, adaptability, and resilience.

As a key member of the External Training team, you will receive:

Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and delivering engineering-based courses, such as Pre-Delivery/Post-Hire Inspection Foundation Courses, Tech Electrics, and Tech Hydraulics.
  • Maintaining current courseware through regular updates.
  • Delivering a minimum of 100 Training Days in a full calendar year, encompassing face-to-face, virtual, and online formats.
  • Project managing small training programs.
  • Executing Train the Trainer sessions where applicable.
  • Preparing training materials with risk assessments for classroom and practical facilities.
  • Conducting tests and assessments to required standards while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Pursuing relevant qualifications, such as NVQ Assessor certifications and manufacturer qualifications.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • A foundational qualification in an aligned area, such as Heavy Plant Maintenance or Powered Access.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with people at all levels.
  • An open-minded approach to work, with adaptability and responsiveness.
  • Able to manage ambiguity and change while maintaining resilience.
  • Effective self-management and time management skills.
  • High standards of literacy and numeracy.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • A valid Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable requirements include:

  • Extensive experience in Powered Access Engineering with relevant qualifications and manufacturer training.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint presentations and Word documents.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, tutoring, or teaching within a business or educational setting.
