Job Title: Youth Care Leader

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to fill the position of Youth Care Leader at Adel Beck Secure Children's Home, a national resource for vulnerable young people. As our next Team Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of staff in providing high-quality care services to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage a team of Senior Residential Practitioners, Residential Practitioners, Assistant Residential Practitioners, and Students in delivering a high-quality care service, including risk assessment, risk management, care, and interventions programs that meet the emotional and developmental needs of children and young people.
  • To work collaboratively and restoratively with other operational managers within the home from education, health, care, business support, and casework and interventions.
  • To contribute to the professional development of staff through appraisal, supervision, in-house and external training, and by example.
  • To develop and maintain high standards of professional practice.
  • To create, manage, and maintain a living environment that is structured while being child-centered.
  • To take a proactive role in addressing and managing challenging behavior presented by children and young people.
  • To participate in the recruitment, selection, induction, supervision, appraisal, training, development, and support processes for staff.

Requirements:

  • Able to motivate, enthuse, manage, organize, and direct staff.
  • Able to pass information effectively, accurately, and concisely between service users, carers, colleagues, and other agencies.
  • Able to provide clear and decisive leadership and direction.
  • Able to chair team meetings and reviews constructively, arbitrating and resolving conflict when necessary.
  • Able to manage staff and young people in a restorative practice, solution-focused, proactive way.
  • Able to understand and observe Leeds City Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.
