We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highway Maintenance Scheduler to join our team at Connect Plus Services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement efficient maintenance schedules for highways and structures to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with the Operations and Maintenance Manager to refine short-term programs and ensure alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs) and planned preventative maintenance.
- Maximize the utilization of direct labor, identify potential shortfalls, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize waste and optimize resource allocation.
- Manage rota and coordinate with Shift Managers to ensure adequate staffing levels and efficient use of resources.
- Optimize the use of plant and materials, identify shortfalls, and implement strategies to minimize waste and optimize resource allocation.
- Ensure efficient use of road space through coordination with internal and external works.
- Assist the Operations and Maintenance Manager with detailed resource planning, including people, plant, and materials.
- Process weekly and monthly timesheets, ensuring accurate allocation of costs.
- Process delivery notes into the financial management system.
- Liaise with other O&M Programmers and quadrant teams to improve resource utilization across the network and share innovative ideas to enhance service delivery.
- Collate and maintain records relating to Severe Weather Events and update the Winter Database.
- Collate and maintain records relating to planned preventative maintenance for highways and structures.
- Manage DWB, Watchman, and customer enquiries databases and ensure escalation of key issues for action.
- Provide general administrative support within a working depot environment.
- Live the Connect Plus Services Values.
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
- Support the delivery of the business's Sustainability activities.
- CSCS card holder Site Visitor/Operative.
- Previous experience in highway maintenance or regulated sectors (e.g., rail/utilities).
- Knowledge and experience of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality standards within a highways context.
- Current UK driving license.
- Previous experience of working in an operational depot environment.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, or similar).
- Experience of purchasing and/or storekeeping.
- Experience of planning shift rotas.
