About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Highway Maintenance Operative to join our team at Connect Plus Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our highway network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections of small structures throughout the network
  • Perform routine maintenance of inspected structures, utilizing small plant machinery as required
  • Responsible for soft estate maintenance, including strimming and hedge cutting
  • Work at heights for some routine inspections
  • Capture and input data into our internal systems
  • Work towards a planned activity schedule and be accountable for its delivery
  • Maintain diligent records of work attended and allocated

Working Arrangements

Our teams work a variety of shifts, and this role will require you to work a mixture of day and night shifts to meet the needs of the project. Flexibility is required, but we will ensure that you are supported and receive any time off needed to manage fatigue.

Requirements

  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize advanced IT skills to manage and update systems, ensuring accuracy and reliability in digital operations
  • Professional Integrity: Uphold a strong work ethic, consistently delivering quality work and demonstrating commitment to the team's objectives
  • Certification: Must be a holder of a valid CSCS Card
  • Small Works Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in managing and executing small-scale projects
  • Working at Heights: Familiarity with MEWPS and the use of gantry access ladders, with a focus on safety and efficiency
  • Schedule Flexibility: Adapt to flexible working hours, including the availability for night shifts, to meet the evolving needs of the project
  • Equipment Operation: Skilfully operate small plant machinery, contributing to the team's operational efficiency while adhering to safety standards
