Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a key member of our educational support team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEND in their learning and development, working closely with teachers and other professionals to create and implement individualized education plans.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, helping them to build confidence and develop essential life skills.
  • Manage and de-escalate situations involving challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure effective support for students, sharing best practices and expertise to drive student success.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Bachelor of Arts Honours degree (BA Hons)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Additional training or qualifications in supporting students with SEND, SEMH, and ASD
  • Experience working in a similar role within an educational setting
Working Conditions:

The role may involve working in a classroom environment, supporting students with diverse needs and behaviors. Flexibility in working hours and the ability to adapt to changing situations are essential. The candidate will need to have two professional references and an enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at a cost if needed).
