Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Barber/Hairdressing lecturer to join our Hair & Beauty team at East Sussex College Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering practical and theory lessons, monitoring students' progress, and providing guidance and support to students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to students
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance
  • Develop and implement curriculum materials, ensuring they are relevant and engaging
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Contribute to the development of the Hair & Beauty department, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Barbering/Hairdressing, including a Level 3 qualification or above
  • Teaching qualification or experience, with a strong understanding of teaching and learning principles
  • Assessors award or equivalent, with experience of assessing student work
  • Excellent knowledge of the hairdressing industry, with a strong understanding of current trends and developments
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, colleagues, and external partners
  • Self-motivated and well-organized, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
